Some things to consider during your visit:
- Arrive Well in Advance: Arrive 15 minutes in advance for a safety briefing and time to get changed. This ensures you don't feel rushed and have adequate time to prepare mentally and physically for the adventure ahead.
- Parking Can Be Challenging in the Old Port: Parking may be difficult to find in the busy Old Port area, so plan extra time for this. While there is parking directly beside the Saute Moutons location at the Clock Tower Pier Marina, it costs $35, which is convenient but significantly more expensive than finding street parking. Arriving early helps secure better parking options at lower costs.
- Weather Dependent Activity: Since tours operate on natural waterways, schedules can change due to weather conditions or water levels. Check the forecast and be prepared for potential rescheduling.
- Come Prepared to Get Completely Soaked: Even with protective gear, you will get thoroughly wet. Bring a change of clothes, avoid wearing valuable items, and mentally prepare for a full soaking experience that's all part of the fun.
- Photo/Video Package Pricing Changes After the Tour: Photo/Video packages are available for $24 when pre-purchased online during booking, but increase to $40 if purchased after the experience due to third-party processing fees. Consider your budget and likelihood of wanting photos/videos before your visit to avoid disappointment or unexpected costs.
- Prepare for Physical Impact from Waves and Rapids: The jet boat experience involves sudden movements, jarring impacts from waves, and rapid directional changes that can strain neck, back, and other muscles. While this may seem obvious given the nature of navigating powerful rapids, the physical intensity can be greater than many passengers expect. In fact, Saute Moutons does not recommend participation for people with a history of osteoporosis, heart, neck or back injuries, as the forces involved can be significantly more intense than anticipated.
Disclosure: We received complimentary passes from Saute Moutons to try their Jet Boating activity in exchange for our coverage.
